Today was a nice day at the market. I made a whopping two dollars playing the piano. Well, three counting the dollar that my wife put in there for me to start things off. I never used to put out a tip jar, but someone suggested it and every now and then I think to bring one along. I made nineteen bucks once. It paid for our snacks and breakfast run that day. I think.
My wife makes and sells journals and bow ties. On saturdays, we sell them and get to meet some wonderful people. I’m secretly (don’t tell my wife this) wishing there is a similar opportunity for this sort of thing in Hawaii. I’m trying to transfer there for my next duty station. Anyhow, my wife thinks that I, in general, only tolerate going to the market to help her vend her wares. The truth is, I really look forward to most Saturdays because I get the opportunity to play the piano for a few hours, followed by a two-hour nap in a hammock with my son, followed by two more hours of piano.
Today was cut a little short because of the rain, but it was rather enjoyable nonetheless.
